Coach Kelsey Voss

Coach Kelsey VossCoach Kelsey began synchronized swimming at the age of 8 with the Northern Virginia
Nereids (NVN).  She swam with NVN until 7th grade, at which time my family moved to Montreal, Canada. In Canada, she was a member of Dollard Synchro throughout middle school and most of high school. After high school, Kelsey moved back to the NoVa area. She stayed somewhat involved with coaching and swimming for NVN before going the University of Mary Washington.
At Mary Washington, Kelsey  was extremely involved, both as an athlete as well as coaching her fellow team mates. The team always welcomed new swimmers of all experience levels, and she really enjoyed teaching the new girls the joys of her sport. Kelsey also spent 4 years as a part time swim instructor for children and adults as part of the Fairfax County Park Authority.
Coach Kelsey feels fortunate to have experienced a variety of different teams during my synchro career. She absorbed knowledge, expertise and culture from each team she has swam with over the years, whether it was in the US or Canada. As a coach, she thinks it's important to inspire people to do their best while simultaneously encouraging the fun and joy for the sport. Having fun doing synchro and being competitive on the national level are definitely not mutually exclusive!
